Field Automation Expert

To continue our success in the machining industry, we are looking for a FIELD AUTOMATION EXPERT (m/f).  This m/f will be working with our robots.  You will take care of the commissioning of installed robot cells to existing or new CNC machines.

Tasks and responsibilities

You are responsible for the commissioning of robot cells installed on existing or new CNC machines. You provide on-site training to the users and you offer (telephone) assistance and quick support in case of questions and/or problems. In this way you ensure that customers are well-informed and are able to work with the installations without problems. In order to steer everything in the right direction, you regularly coordinate with the installation technicians and suppliers of the CNC machines. You prepare the 'commissioning reports'. As soon as you have been adequately trained and familiarised, you will work as an 'Automation Expert' in a rotating system in which you alternately provide telephone assistance from Belgium or 'on-site' support at clients abroad, usually in France, England or Germany.

These trips last an average of 5 days and almost always take place during the working week so that the weekends remain free as much as possible.

Profile and competencies

• Degree in industrial engineering and electromechanics or equivalent through experience;
• You are young and ambitious and your passion is resolving technical issues;
• You are stress-resistant, eager to learn and structured in your work;
• You communicate smoothly and pleasantly, and are also able to listen carefully and then analyse the information;
• You are self-assured, customer-oriented and sufficiently assertive;
• You are technically strong, especially in the field of electricity and PLC, and familiar with CNC machines;
• You have perseverance and are a problem solver;
• You are fluent in English and have a solid basic knowledge of German and French;
• You do not have a 9-to-5 mentality and you like to come in contact with different people in different cultures;
• You are familiar with communication techniques and software;
• You are willing to make foreign trips on a regular basis.
