Woodworking machines from Bruges
Robland was founded by Robert Landuyt in 1968 and is still privately owned. It started by building affordable, high-quality combination woodworking machines for the do-it-yourself market. Over the years, the range grew to include panel saws, spindle moulders, planing machines and CNC boring machines for professional woodworkers.
The mission has stayed the same: strong, robust machines at the best price. Robland builds its machines from raw materials in its 20,000 m² factory near Bruges, making almost all parts in-house. Through a network of international dealers, the company exports 85% of its production to more than 100 countries.
Why automate
Because Robland makes nearly every part of its machines itself, an efficient, cost-effective parts production is essential to stay competitive while manufacturing in Belgium. Automation is a logical step in that strategy.
“With RoboJob we have taken a new step forward in our company. With automation Robland is looking ahead to the future. Naturally we made a study of the products in the market, which showed that the quality of RoboJob’s automation came out on top.”
— Marc Gevaert, Production Manager, Robland
Two RoboJob systems on two Doosan machines
In 2014, RoboJob installed a Mill-Assist Essential with revolving unit on a Doosan DNM 650 machining centre with Fanuc control. A Turn-Assist 270 on a Doosan Lynx 2600Y lathe followed.
- Doosan DNM 650 with a Mill-Assist Essential
- Doosan Lynx 2600Y with a Turn-Assist 270
The installation went smoothly, and minor issues were addressed and followed up immediately.

The result
The two RoboJob systems give Robland extra spindle hours on its Doosan machines and, with that, a higher return on its in-house parts production.
