A supplier to international machine builders since 1957
Daniël Vanderscheuren started the company in 1957 as the first business on the Diksmuide industrial estate, as a maintenance and repair workshop. Over the years, Vanderscheuren grew into a supplier to large international companies, mainly in industrial machine building. Today, around 80 people provide turning and milling, sheet metal work, welding, laser and flame cutting, and assembly. The company is ISO 9001 certified.
Why automate: competing with tight delivery times
“Of course it’s no coincidence that we have chosen for RoboJob. This decision was however, reinforced by the increasing competition from outside. In order to be competitive in the labour market, in 2012 following a detailed market study, we chose to install two RoboJob Turn-Assists on two Gildemeister lathes. Since then we have been able to experience how easy it is for each operator to work with the RoboJob system. Our customers are also noticing this due to our tight delivery times and the quality of our products.”

Compact and open
The RoboJob Turn-Assist is so compact that it does not get in the way, and its open configuration lets Vanderscheuren keep a clear view of the whole workshop at any time.

Five Turn-Assist Essential cells
After two years of good experience with the first two cells, Vanderscheuren automated three more lathes with RoboJob. Today, five Turn-Assist Essential cells are in use.
- DMG Mori CTX 420 with a Turn-Assist Essential
- DMG Mori CTX 420 with a Turn-Assist Essential
- DMG Mori CTX 410 HD with a Turn-Assist Essential
- DMG Mori CTX 400 HD with a Turn-Assist Essential
- Doosan Puma 2600LSY with a Turn-Assist Essential
The result: fewer errors, more flexibility
“The fact is the Turn-Assist reduces the number of errors as well as reducing our operating time. Flexibility has been given a huge boost in our company, and because every operator likes to work with it, the atmosphere here is optimal.”
