High-end parts in series and one-offs

AMT processes all types of materials into high-end products, for both mass production and one-off parts. Quality comes first: in the end product, and in the people and machines that make it.

Why automate: competition from low-wage countries

“Like most suppliers in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, in recent years we were also faced with increasing competition from low-wage countries such as Turkey or Eastern Europe. Consequently we had to look for a way to reduce our cost price.”

— AMT Group, Breda

A solution developed together

AMT met RoboJob at a trade fair and compared it extensively with several competitors. What stood out was RoboJob’s flexibility: instead of starting from an existing product, RoboJob looked at AMT’s own challenge.

Together, they developed a new concept for AMT’s Mazak Integrex i-400ST multitasking machine: a robot that loads and unloads workpieces from and to stackable racks. This Racks system is the predecessor of today’s RoboJob Pallet-Load.

“At RoboJob they think with the customer: when doing this, the challenge is looked at from the point of view of our own issues and thus not from the proprietary existing product. This immediately appealed to us.”

Their work has become more interesting: they no longer do the repetitive loading and unloading and can focus on other, more creative tasks. AMT also values RoboJob’s support, which is always accessible and quick to resolve a question or problem.
