Matrijzen De Craecker NV has been an established name in Flemish mould construction for more than 50 years. De Craecker also offers a wide range of services, from turning and milling to wire sparking, cylindrical grinding and laser welding. Today, the family business is run by Tom De Craecker, grandson of the original founder. He carries with him the same values with which his father and grandfather built the company: a focus on quality, service and innovation. It should therefore come as no surprise that Matrijzen De Craecker was one of the first RoboJob customers in Belgium in 2012. The Turn-Assist Essential that was installed on two Mazak machines at the time still performs well today.

Mr Tom de Craecker, Business Manager: "It’s been more than 10 years since we got to know RoboJob. In our company, we are committed to innovation, and we often look for new technology to improve our quality and services. This is how we became one of the first RoboJob customers in Belgium. We were also the very first RoboJob customer to ask for our robot to shuttle between two machines: a Mazak QTN 30 and a Mazak SQT 200 M. We soon had a good click with RoboJob, and appreciated the fact that they helped find solutions with us to meet our needs.

The Turn-Assist Essential was installed in June 2012. At that time, robots were not at all as common as they are today, so it was a major step both for us and our employees. But when I look back on it today, I am extremely happy that we dared to take that step. For more than 9 years now, we’ve been able to rely on our RoboJob installation. It has never broken down in those nine years, which is really rather exceptional. I wish I could say the same for all our machines and accessories. Our Turn-Assist turns out to be extremely reliable.

The robot is also extremely robust. It can - literally - take quite a knock. If someone accidentally steers it into something, we’re able to make it return to the 'Home' position at the push of a button, and it's as if nothing had happened at all. It can just go straight back to work.

Another huge advantage is the service that RoboJob continues to offer to this day. It sometimes happens that an operator makes a mistake and sets something up wrong. Usually we solve that ourselves. The manuals RoboJob has provided us with are very easy and clear. It is a matter of following all the steps and we can then move on. Very occasionally - once or twice a year - we still have to contact the RoboJob Service Team. Then we call, explain our problem, and are helped immediately.

What's even more incredible is that we can just be helped by phone. That’s an enormous added value, because if a technician has to come by, production has come to a standstill in the meantime. At RoboJob this is perfectly avoided: we just call, and a little later our robot is back at work.

Service is extremely important in our sector. We must not only be able to rely on our robot, but also on the support. And for that we are in the right place at RoboJob. It’s been years since we’ve seen a technician from RoboJob here, and in fact, that’s the way it should be.”
