Jaw Exchange Module
Load claws into your turning machine
Our Jaw Exchange module was developed as an addition to your Tower or Wall system to load jaws in your lathe. This is extremely relevant if you want to machine multiple series with varying diameters full-continuous.
This module involves a custom gripper that we seamlessly match to your desired chuck supplier. Please note: we currently support the Schunk Rapido system and the Matsumoto system. If you do want a different supplier, please let us know first so that we can carry out the necessary tests on them.
Did you know that this technology can also be integrated on milling machines? Ask us about this, as we have ample experience with this!
The Jaw Exchange Module in the field
Your win
Choose the Jaw Exchange module if you:
- have very different diameters to machine one after the other
- no longer want to manually exchange jaws
Then choose the Jaw Exchange module.
In this way, your CNC machine runs very small series autonomously for a very long time. That's right: unmanned production. You just need sufficient tools, a large chip bin, maybe with a briquetting press and a RoboJob Tower or Wall. We take care of the rest!

How does it work?
Schunk has brought a very robust, pioneering innovation with its RAPIDO system, where the robot changes the jaws one by one. In doing so, we unlock the chuck using a cylinder, remove the jaws from the machine and replace them with jaws prepared for a different diameter.
After exchanging these jaws, the robot performs a rinsing and blowing cycle, so that your jaws are placed back in the Tower or Wall virtually clean. Meanwhile, we do this entirely in the sidelines. In other words, your machine is already processing the next part.
Only to be found at RoboJob

RoboJob initially developed this Jaw Exchange module in collaboration with SCHUNK. The idea dates back to 2014 and was modelled on our very first gripper finger system. This had a click system, which also made them automatically interchangeable.
Our robots now take the jaws from your chuck and swap them with other jaws located in the Tower or Wall.
How do you programme this? You don't!
You put the right jaws in the software, connect them to a particular job, and the RoboJob software does all the rest for you. You want 72 hours of unmanned production, this technology makes it child's play!
A little tip here too? Make sure you have enough tools and a good chip management and coolant management system. Tools can be in the machine's magazine or in the Tower or Wall. We will take care of the rest.
This simple, but extremely useful extension
completes your RoboJob product.
