While most of us are looking forward to sunnier weather and a summer holiday, RoboJob is already eagerly awaiting September. This is, after all, when the EMO trade fair is scheduled to be held in Hanover for the first time since 2019. It has already been confirmed that Coby will also be involved, which has everything to do with the high demand for CNC automation due to 'reshoring'.

The 'Exposition Mondiale de la Machine-Outil’, or EMO for short, is the largest trade fair for the manufacturing industry in Europe, some say even the world. The trade fair is held every odd-numbered year, with a cycle of 2 shows at Hannover's 'Messegelände' in Germany and 1 show at the 'Fiera Milano' in Milan, Italy. The last edition was held in Milan in 2021, so it is now Hanover's turn again.

This will be RoboJob's fourth participation in Hanover, and, as usual, the plan is to be put on a solid show at the world's biggest event. At the last edition in Hanover, RoboJob showed the Tower, a Turn-Assist as well as a Mill-Assist. Although it remains to be seen what will be on display, it is already confirmed that Coby CNC - RoboJob's first DIY Cobot automation - will definitely be there.

Coby CNC was created just under a year ago after it became apparent that the demand for CNC automation was reaching unprecedented heights. It is clearly evident that Covid-19 and also reshoring had something to do with it. "Already during the Covid-19 pandemic, we started to observe an increase in the number of queries," recalls CEO Helmut De Roovere. "That translated into a record number of orders in 2021. Since then, many companies have moved to CNC automation, which also has a lot to do with the reshoring trend that is now in full swing. With Coby, we can now provide a solution that is feasible for every customer. After all, Coby is not only affordable, it can also be installed independently by the customer, even on CNC machines without a robot interface."

EMO will be a major steppingstone for Coby CNC, which will go on sale online even before the trade fair. “The first five Coby systems were installed at customers in Benelux and Germany, and we maintained close contact with these companies to get as much feedback from them as possible so that we could fine-tune this new product. This has since been done, and so we are now ready to introduce Coby to the general public as well. The EMO trade fair is of course the ideal opportunity to do this. But Coby will not be the only showcase we will bring," De Roovere says, looking ahead.

The EMO trade fair will be held from 18 to 23 September at Messegelände in Hanover. You will find RoboJob in Hall 15, at stand B15.
