RoboJob shows new technology at EMO Hannover

The 'Exposition Mondiale de la Machine-Outil’, or EMO for short, is the largest trade fair for the manufacturing industry in Europe, some say even the world. It is therefore the ideal platform to discover new technology and innovation. RoboJob announced earlier that it will showcase as many as 14 robotic systems at this trade fair. The latest technology will mainly be on display at its own exhibition stand in Hall 15.

The Tower will feature with the new servo gripper, which provides a high degree of flexibility and autonomy. "As with any gripper, this gripper has 2 sides: one to handle a rough workpiece and the other to handle the finished workpiece," says CEO Helmut De Roovere. "Workpieces can include discs, blocks and shafts. The Servo gripper can also handle clamping devices, chucks, individual jaws of a clamping system and collets. Moreover, the robot itself can change the gripper based on what it needs to grab. The Tower allows you to create a lot more autonomy and flexibility, so that you can produce autonomously for days on end."

In addition to the SCHUNK Rapido, the new SCHUNK KSP-BWA changeover system will also be demonstrated on the Tower, where the robot uses the RAPIDO quick-change system to exchange the individual clamping jaws of the lathe. With the new KSP-BWA system, it works in exactly the same way, but for the jaws of a clamping unit in a milling machine. The robot also exchanges individual jaws in this machine. "This way, we ensure that the robot does not have to exchange the entire clamping unit,” De Roovere explains. "That is not only a lighter weight for the robot, but also a lower investment for the customer. After all, the base remains the same, and it is only the jaws that need to be exchanged. This means that the customer does not need to purchase different clamping units."

On the Mill-Assist, RoboJob will present the application it developed in collaboration with HWR Spanntechnik, which allows for loading and unloading of not only workpieces, but also HWR clamps on the automation solution for milling machines.

Coby CNC will also be on show, which will be the first time at EMO. The DIY Cobot solution can now also be ordered online and can be installed independently by the customer. "That way, we make CNC automation affordable and accessible to everyone. What is more, a robot interface is not needed on the CNC machine, which means significant savings can be made there too," says De Roovere.
