Why does every CNC machine deserve its own robot?
Why does every CNC machine deserve its own robot?
One of RoboJob's missions is to make CNC automation as accessible as possible to CNC operators of all levels. We do this by making our software as user-friendly as possible. We make our robots user-friendly, easy to operate, easy to load, easy to integrate into your existing workflow. We give our customers all the benefits of an automated robot, and put it in a user-friendly package.
But if it's so "simple," why can't a robot operate 2 machines? We can do it, but why don't we do it?
Our machines are made to operate a CNC machine. They are fixed to the ground next to the machine and calibrated with a precision thinner than a human hair. When a robot would operate 2 machines there is so little room left for human intervention, don't underestimate the impact of this. When something needs to be done to the robot or to one of the machines, both machines and the robot must be shut down.
Also, when a robot would have to operate multiple machines, the situation arises where one of the CNC machines would have finished an operation but would have to wait for the robot. The ideal situation is a robot ready to unload and load the machine immediately when it is finished. This ensures the greatest possible efficiency of running your CNC machine. A machine that is waiting to be unloaded by the robot is not doing anything and therefore not making any money.
