Artificial Intelligence and CNC automation: that too is becoming an inseparable duo. Just think of intelligent quality control, fault prediction and predictions for maintenance and wear, smart optimised production times and forward-looking automation systems. Where it needs to go is clear, but some years will pass before we get to that point. That made us curious: what impact will AI have on your business in the next 5 years?

"Minimal impact" 13%

A small group of participants in our poll say the impact of AI will be minimal on their business. For these CNC connoisseurs, their business model is presumably less dependent on technology, or they simply do not see the benefits of AI applications within their organisation.

"Noticeable impact" 23%

Almost a quarter of participants (23%) expect AI to have a noticeable impact on their business. That already seems like a nice recognition of AI's potential to us, but this group does not see an application in every department. These companies will incrementally enrich their processes with available AI technologies without going for a complete transformation right away. So while this 23% of respondents will start working with Artificial Intelligence in the next 5 years, they will still keep a tight rein on the reins.

"AI will change a lot" 42%

There they are, the early majority! A whopping 42% of our participants predict that AI will dramatically change their business processes in the next 5 years. They do see themselves working with AI and are quietly preparing for a significant transformation in their daily operations and even at the strategic level. So for them, AI is no longer a distant dream.

"AI will be everywhere" 23%

The last quarter of our participants expect to work with AI in every field in the next five years. For them, the technology is not just a tool; it will provide them with trends and insights, it will help set the direction and reduce the workload. You will find AI in every department: from customer service to warehouse, from HR to Sales, at all different levels. And that in just five years.

So 65% of participants see a significant or even immense impact of AI in their company in the next five years. How do you see this in your company?
